"- As soon as I walked in, I was sat down. Service is splendid. The boat noodle here is to die for! One of the most savory broths with a mix of vegetables and lime juice , hits the spot every time. The eggrolls are also a staple here. Simple yet delicious and so crunchy on the outside! All the food came fresh and steaming with delight. Definitely recommend to all bowl noodle enthusiasts or anyone who wants an authentic taste of the Asian community."

"Spotted Friends Cafe when I was getting a car wash across the street at Rice Street Car Wash, and decided to stop. SO glad I did! I ordered the chicken fried rice (#36) and Thai style basil (#30) and spring rolls. The fried rice was flavorful and almost buttery. The Thai basil was fresh and flavorful - a little sweet. I ordered the Thai basil medium and it was QUITE spicy (coming from a sriracha/Tabasco/Cholula hot sauce lover). The place was really busy at 2:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon. Since I’m in the area a lot, I will be back!"

"The first Burmese restaurant in Minnesota to my knowledge. Still offers some curries I can't find anywhere else: shrimp & eggplant curry (pictured) & golden egg curry. It's also one of the few places you can find bu thee kyaw (fried bottle gourd with dipping sauce, which is better than French fries IMHO) & tea-leaf salad. In fact, my first-ever experience with tea-leaf salad was here. Cozy restaurant with traditional Karen cultural items displayed on old walls create a homey vibe. The servers have always been nice to me as well. If you like very sweet desserts, try the Burmese shave ice salad dessert. It doesn't seem like it would work, but it does — it's worth a try if you like Hmong tricolor dessert (nab vam). I suppose it makes sense to call it a salad, given how MN food has "salads" that are basically a dessert."

"I am so blessed to live so close to this restaurant. The Pad See Ew is my go to every time. I have tried everything else on the menu and it all is amazing. My wife and I have traveled all around the cities to find better food but it's so sad when we drive 30 minutes through traffic to just be disappointed, when we could have just walked to Friends Cafe for a great meal."

"Food is fresh. Service is good. Taste is on point except the curry. Curry is slightly over seasoned. Overall, this place is good."
